「PixelShinobi」は、プレーヤーがShinobi(忍者)としてプレイするRPG要素を持つステルスプラットフォームゲームです。
敵を倒す度に経験を積み、結果、より高度な忍術がアンロック出来ます。
レベルをクリアする毎に武器を生成する要素が収集出来ます。
主要武器:忍者刀、鎖鎌、手裏剣、毒、エリキシル、手榴弾など。
攻略した各レベルの最後に過去のレベルで得た経験値を入手します。
ゲーム攻略にはステルスメカニックを駆使すること。
隠れる事が攻防及び攻撃の最大の武器となります。
影に隠れ敵に威力のある攻撃を加える事が経験値を上げる事に繋がります。
各レベルの後にShinobiは自分の村へ帰り、そこで武器と高度な忍術を得ます。
物語1560年-日本の最後の将軍が領土でのコントロールを失った事により他勢力と大規模な内戦に陥入り、他の一族が征服を進めてきた事により無秩序状態が国に広がり始めます。
大名マモル率いる強固な「SteelClaw」一族が敵を呪い打つ為、古い禁じられた慣習の知識を求めるべく闇の存在を崇拝し始めます。
マモルはすぐに報復の魂と邪悪な侍の指導者に呪われてしまいます。
この呪いによって「SteelClaw」はカオスと憎悪を村へ拡大し他の部族を感染させ始めるのでした。
悪魔のような大名は9人の悪魔と協力し血と憎悪から成る大規模な軍隊を作り上げます。
残る望みは「BlackLotus」という忍び一族だけ。
この一族だけがマモルのパワーを攻防出来るのです。
